We love putting before and after shots together of real locations found in historic photographs. Here are a few we did over the past year around the Greenbrier Valley.
Starting with, our house:
John Wesley United Methodist Church, hit with a cannonball during the Civil War, and it’s still there. Or well, the hole is still there. It also has a slave entrance….
The women’s academy school in Lewisburg, which stood right in front of where Carnegie Hall now stands.
Court Street in Lewisburg. Courthouse on the right.
I’m pretty sure about this one. This is the church behind the True Value in Lewisburg, WV. It obviously has been renovated. Either that, or I’m way off base….
This is not the Greenbrier Valley, but it’s cool. This is actually the site of the original well at Schoenbrunn Village in New Philadelphia, Ohio.
This is the historic tavern known as Elmhurst, at the Caldwell Bridge in Caldwell, WV, just outside of Lewisburg, WV.
And last, but not least, one of my favorites, Julie and Jillian at the historic site of the filming of A Christmas Story. Every era has its living history, lol.
