Description

Original 18th century fork we found, which is very close to style of forks we’ve excavated at Byrnside’s Fort, and other colonial sites. Perhaps no object is found so often as this style of two tine fork on the really early sites. They must have been extremely popular and highly used. This particular one has a bone handle but no pins. It may have a rat-tail tang, which is a unique feature on these. This is the only one like that we’ve found so far.

It’s in great shape and couldn’t even be used again with no problem at all. Note: the relic fork pictured with it is not for sale – just for comparison.
