Description
This is a 19th century Fur Trade Era butcher or hunting knife by an unknown maker, which I believe was probably Native American owned, due to the pewter inlay designs, including the name, “Hattie,” which is a good indication of native ownership at some point. Â Somebody put what appears to be a wax seal on it at some point to preserve it, and to keep the pewter intact. Â It’s in decent condition for the age. Â See the photos. No maker marks that I can observe.
