18th Century Folding Shaving-Style Knife

Description
This is an old folding shaving knife, I’m guessing for shaving. It’s of an 18th century style, of a primitive backwoods sort, with no backspring or tension. It just folds out, and folds in. It has some serious age to it, and it’s close to being in relic condition. I’m not sure what the story is behind it, but I’d love to know. It appears to have been a handmade blacksmith forged piece.
